I had the chance to talk to Billy Dee Williams (aka Lando Calrissian) a few days ago ahead of his Hal Con appearance. Here’s the entire unedited interview, where it becomes apparent how much I confused and eventually delighted him. Happy Hal Con, everyone!
PS. He really was in LOST, and he really didn’t remember it. Awesome.
It’s the episode technology never wanted you to hear! Seriously though, apologies for the tardiness of this week’s episode, and the fact it lacks a proper intro, but the heart of the show is still there, and that’s the radio. This week’s guest has criss-crossed the country in a very short time…
Floyd…stay strong- you know that its not about you…its about the tool who is doing this…I work near an area where there are very poor people-stopped and chatted with someone who looked like they could use a smile.Keep the faith
I’m being cyberbullied. I don’t know who is doing it, and I’m not gonna get into details, but it’s a pretty big downer. This morning I was especially bummed out, but I decided to do something about it. I can’t do it without you.
If you’re reading this, can you do me a huge favour? Do something nice for someone today. Something you wouldn’t usually do. Pay for someone’s coffee, help a neighbour with a chore, even just flash a big smile at someone who looks like they need it on your way to work. It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture - just a conscious effort to inject a little extra positivity into someone else’s life.
After you’ve done your deed(s), let me know what you did. You can either tweet about it with the hashtag #hugsnotshrugs (because I think apathy is the biggest problem facing victims of bullying) or send me an email to email@example.com. THIS PART IS IMPORTANT! Tomorrow I am talking to students at Hants East Rural High about ways to cope with bullying. If I can present them with a list of good things that happened today in Halifax as a result of/response to an instance of bullying, I think it will be much more powerful than the speech I had initially planned.
Please share this as much as possible! I think your efforts today could really make a difference to the kids at HERH. I want them to believe -as I believe - that change is possible and positivity is a powerful force.
Today’s show topic was juvenile as hell - we all got in a circle, held hands, and shared stories about the last time we had a poop-related accident. I got this call from a gentleman named Chad. It involves a murdered cat, a poor old lonely lady, and lots of unedited swear words. Not safe for work, lunch, or life.
Oh my sweet lord. We gave as many updates as possible this morning re: the Robie St incident, and at one point mentioned that the alleged suspect is a known associate of Jimmy Melvin Jr. Then, we got this call. Extremely NSFW and unedited.
I need you to send me the craigslist confessions that you aired Thursday morning. I need to shear it with some of my friends that don't get your station due to living in hickvill Pugwash, like your self I was brought up there and the stations sucked. CKDH Amherst or CFCY PEI and of course CBC. just saying it would be great if you could send me that clip so I can laugh my ass off and shear it with some old friends back home. South Pugwash AKA Bugz
Well hello there, fellow Pugwashian! You can find the audio immediately below this post, but if you want your very own copy you’re gonna have to provide me with an email address! Cheers!
I found this band wandering, lost and lonely, through the streets of Halifax. Turns out they’re from the UK and came all the way over here for Halifax Pop Explosion. Check out these clips of Ambersand talking about international travel, unexpected shows and how exactly you pronounce Worcestershire sauce. Then, go like their Facebook page to hear some of their music!
